| About: The Hunger Games is a science fiction novel geared towards young adults and written by Suzzane Collins in 2008. The novel revolves around Katniss Everdeen, who lives in post-baneful world which is ruled by a very strong government called Capitol. Under their authority, barbarism is very prevalent. A game was televised called Hunger Games in which the brutal Capitol would choose any girl and boy who would be made to fight each other until only one survives. So Katniss was chosen against a guy named Peeta, who once helped her. The story narrates a very interesting series of events describing their ways of fighting and still surviving. In addition to this, both gradually fall in love with each other. The novel is part of a series in which the second part is named Catching Fire, published in 2009, and the third is going to be published in 2010. The Hunger Game received many awards including one from USA TODAY, Publishers Weekly's and New York Times Best Seller. Lionsgate Entertainment acquired the rights to adapt the novel for making a movie that would be head by Collins herself. |
