About: The Hunger Games is a science fiction novel geared towards young adults and written by Suzzane Collins in 2008. The novel revolves around Katniss Everdeen, who lives in post-baneful world which is ruled by a very strong government called Capitol. Under their authority, barbarism is very prevalent. A game was televised called Hunger Games in which the brutal Capitol would choose any girl and boy who would be made to fight each other until only one survives. So Katniss was chosen against a guy named Peeta, who once helped her. The story narrates a very interesting series of events describing their ways of fighting and still surviving. In addition to this, both gradually fall in love with each other. The novel is part of a series in which the second part is named Catching Fire, published in 2009, and the third is going to be published in 2010. The Hunger Game received many awards including one from USA TODAY, Publishers Weekly's and New York Times Best Seller. Lionsgate Entertainment acquired the rights to adapt the novel for making a movie that would be head by Collins herself.

10/10I love the book The Hunger Games. I couldnt stop reading it, and the same thing happened with the sequel and the third book.
10/10I simply don't know what to read after finishing this trilogy. When people say they couldn't stop reading, they are telling the truth. Action, drama, romance and above all suspense. No other series will stand on equal ground with this one. I'm keeping a closer eye on Collin's future works than Snow could have ever hoped to on Katniss.

As Katniss struggles through the condition of the times and humanity, she gets thrown into the thick of it- the Hunger Games. 24 children compete to stay alive and kill the others. All the while she is caught in a complicated love triangle that endures until the very end of the third book. This is one of the best books I have ever read and I would recommend it to anyone!

5/10The ideas are interesting and the plot suspenseful, but the writing itself is rather poor. The following two books get worse and it was like slogging through mud to get through them. The Hunger Games was average at best. Young teenagers might like it because they haven't read much at their age and have little with which to compare it.

I believe this book has taken some hast due to the fact thats it is popular despite not having the right so called "components" of a classic novel. So for all of the sticklers comparing it to the Great Gatsby isn't the brilliant concept of non fiction not having to color inside the lines?

9/10I finished the third book of the trilogy a few hours ago, a real page turner! Perfect for young adults, its complicated without being over-thought, and a very fast paced plot. In particular the heroine made the book- what a journey! Very absorbing.
