About: Pride and Prejudice, a 19th century based novel has been written by Jane Austin in 1813, published as her second novel. The story revolves around Elizabeth Bennet, the second daughter of the Bennet family and Darcy, a rich wealthy man. Elizabeth tends to be really sensitive towards issues like marriage, morality, manners and upbringing. Darcy is a friend of Mr. Bingley who comes to stay for a while in a estate situated near the Bennet family. As being a part of England elite class, Darcy feels uncomfortable in Netherfield and therefore refuses to dance with Elizabeth in a ball arranged locally. This develops an arrogant and prideful image of Darcy in Elizabeth's eye. Gradually, Darcy starts feeling a soft corner for Elizabeth, which Elizabeth had too but due to her prejudice against Darcy, she could not utter a word and kept her feelings to herself. As the novel goes further, many dramatic twists take place due to factor of Darcy's pride and Elizabeth prejudice. Jane Austin has written many remarkable novels such as Emma, Mansfield Park, and Sense and Sensibility. The novel has 20 million copies sold throughout the world. Many films, theaters and stage dramas have been made on about this novel.
