| About: Moby Dick is written by American author Herman Melville and was published in 1851. Initially it was misunderstood but was eventually considered as the literary world's treasure. The story narrates the random voyage by Ishamael on the whale ship Pequod, with a captain named Ahab. They are further accompanied with three more sail men on the voyage. Ahab has a bitten arm in addition to a missing leg and the reason for this misfortune was a whale called Moby Dick. Ahab in one of the voyages was bitten on the leg by that whale and the only reason he was on the whaleship was to take his revenge from Moby Dick. The story covers concepts like existence of Gods, class, good and evils, beliefs and non beliefs. Along with this it completely covers the Ishamel's life routines. The novel brought the author in the limelight in America and Melville was considered one of the best writers of his time. |
