The only person who survives is Robert Neville in Los Angeles who keeps attempting to find a cause and cure for the disease that has killed the entire human race. In his effort to find the cure, he finds an uninfected woman named Ruth who informs him that the infected ones are developing ways to survive in the environment, including their adaptability to sun exposure. The majority of the story is based around Neville fighting for his life so that he can find a cure for infected ones and bring back the human race. The novel is a must read if solely for the innovative ideas it offers. It has many film adaptations as well. |
